How the digital workflow fits together

  1. 01

    Scan

Seat a Surcam scan body on the implant, abutment or multi-unit and capture it with an intraoral or desktop scanner.

    Scan bodies
  2. 02

    Match in CAD

The CAD software matches the scan body to the Surcam library file and places the exact implant position and connection.

  3. 03

    Design and mill

Design the crown or framework on the Surcam Ti-base geometry, mill it and bond it to the Ti-base.

  4. 04

    Verify on the model

Print the model with a Surcam digital analog to check fit and contacts before delivery.

Library questions

Are the Surcam libraries free?

Yes. The libraries are free for clinics and labs working with Surcam components.

Which file do I need?

Download the library for your CAD software. If your software version is newer than the file listed, or the library does not load, request the current version from the digital team on WhatsApp.

How do I install the library?

Extract the archive and add it through the implant library import in your CAD software. The digital team sends step-by-step instructions for your software and version on request.

The file does not open.

The exocad and 3Shape files are .rar archives. Open them with 7-Zip or WinRAR, then import the extracted folder.

Do the libraries include other implant brands?

The libraries cover Surcam systems. For a specific third-party system, ask the digital team which systems are included for your software before designing.

Which scan body do I use?

Use the Surcam scan body that matches your system: Internal Hex, Conical Connection, General Multi-Unit or Prime Multi-Unit. Intraoral versions are scanned in the mouth on the abutment; lab versions are scanned on the model on the analog. View scan bodies.
