Standard 5.0 mm healing abutment for IH 2.42 - soft-tissue shaping & clean emergence (GH 2–7 mm)
Product Description
The Surcam Healing Caps Normal are standard-diameter (Ø5.0 mm) healing abutments that guide soft-tissue maturation and establish a cleansable emergence profile on Internal Hex 2.42 mm implants. Machined from Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) for strength and biocompatibility, they’re offered in gingival heights (GH) 2–7 mm to match mucosal thickness and surgical approach in anterior or posterior sites.
Includes: 1× Healing Cap Standard.

Healing Caps FAQs
Which implant platforms are compatible?
Internal Hex 2.42 mm families including Alpha Bio®, Zimmer®, MIS®, Adin®, Implant Direct®, AB Dental®. Always verify platform dimensions and interface before use.
How do I choose the gingival height?
Match GH to mucosal thickness: thin tissue → 2–3 mm; average → 3–5 mm; thicker biotype or posterior sites → 5–7 mm. Confirm clinically and with radiographs.
What is the diameter and when should I use it?
This is a standard Ø 5.0 mm healing cap, ideal for most posterior sites and many anterior cases when space permits. Consider narrower caps where embrasures are tight.
Do I need a separate screw?
No separate prosthetic screw is typically required; the healing cap engages the implant’s internal connection. Follow your system’s IFU.
Can I scan directly with the healing cap?
For accuracy, use the dedicated scan abutment. Healing caps are for tissue shaping; they are not calibrated scan bodies.
What torque should I apply?
Hand-tight only unless your system specifies otherwise. Refer to the implant manufacturer’s IFU and do not exceed recommended torque.
