Cortical implants use an aggressive thread to anchor in the dense cortical layer, which helps primary stability where immediate loading or placement into an extraction socket is planned. The Surcam SC-Type has a sharp, deep, coarse self-tapping thread, a 2 mm neck and an SLA surface.

It uses the 2.43 mm internal hex shared by the Surcam internal hex line, in Ø4.0 and 5.0 mm and lengths from 10 to 20 mm. Implants ship gamma-sterilized, one implant and cover screw per sterile pack.
