Surcam Straight Aesthetic FAQs
Which implant platforms are compatible?
Internal Hex 2.42 mm systems including Alpha Bio®, Zimmer®, MIS®, Adin®, Implant Direct®, AB Dental®. Always verify platform dimensions and interface before use.
How do I choose the gingival height?
Match GH to soft-tissue thickness and planned emergence: thin tissue → 1.0 mm; average → 2.0 mm; thicker biotype/convex emergence → 3.0 mm. Confirm clinically and radiographically.
Is this for cement-retained or screw-retained restorations?
Primarily cement-retained. The included screw secures the abutment to the implant; cement the crown per your protocol.
Is it suitable for anterior esthetics?
Yes. The straight aesthetic profile supports natural cervical contours and soft-tissue stability when margins and contours are well controlled.
What torque should I apply to the abutment screw?
Use the manufacturer-specified torque for IH 2.42 abutments stated in your implant system IFU. Do not exceed recommended values.
Can I use this abutment in posterior load cases?
Yes, when occlusion and prosthetic design are properly managed, the straight wide shoulder offers a stable base for posterior function.
