Surcam dental implant abutments span every restorative pathway — cemented, screw-retained, and multi-unit — in machined titanium, TiN-coated aesthetic, and castable CrCo. Straight and 15°/25° angled bodies cover the 3.75 mm and 4.5 mm platforms on both Internal Hex and conical connections. Each is machined to tight tolerances and shipped lot-tracked for clinics and labs, with Internal Hex parts compatible with standard 3.75 / 4.2 / 4.5 mm systems.

Choosing an abutment comes down to the restoration in front of you — a cemented crown, a screw-retained bridge, or a full-arch multi-unit case. Surcam covers all three pathways in machined titanium, TiN-coated aesthetic, and castable CrCo, with straight, 15°, and 25° angular bodies on 3.75 mm and 4.5 mm prosthetic platforms. Internal Hex abutments fit standard 3.75 / 4.2 / 4.5 mm systems, so you can change supplier without re-tooling the restorative workflow.

What is a dental implant abutment?

A dental implant abutment is the connecting component that attaches to a dental implant and supports the final crown, bridge, or denture. Abutments are selected by retention type (cemented or screw-retained), angulation (straight, 15°, or 25° to correct implant divergence), and material (titanium for strength, TiN-coated for anterior aesthetics, or castable CrCo for lab-fabricated copings). Surcam abutments are machined to a 2.43 mm Internal Hex or proprietary conical interface; the abutment screw is torqued to 15 Ncm and seating is confirmed radiographically. They are supplied non-sterile and single-use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What abutment types does Surcam offer?

Aesthetic (TiN-coated), titanium, temporary (engaging and non-engaging), and castable abutments — in straight, 15°, and 25° angular configurations.

Are Surcam abutments compatible with other implant brands?

The Internal Hex line is platform-compatible with standard 3.75 / 4.2 / 4.5 mm platforms (Zimmer®, MIS®, and similar); the conical line is Surcam-proprietary. [disclaimer]

Cemented or screw-retained — which should I choose?

Cemented suits single units and shorter spans; screw-retained multi-unit suits full-arch and retrievable cases.

Are abutments delivered sterile?

No — they ship non-sterile and must be autoclaved (132 °C, 15 min) before use. Single-use.

What is the tightening torque?

15 Ncm maximum, with seating verified radiographically. Angles beyond 25° carry overload risk and should be case-planned.
